We all know that "life happens" and that our reactions is what makes all the difference in how we live our lives. If you can achieve a calmer state of mind and build up greater resilience, then you’ll be better equipped to deal with the challenges that cause you stress and worry. You’ll start to enjoy your life a whole lot more than you thought was possible.
In my sessions I implement effective research based methods to instill self-understanding among clients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. This effectively leads to behavioural transformation by deepening your self-understanding. After each session, homework will be given for you to integrate and participate in your healing process. Yes, you read this correctly, our work is not limited to the sessions we are together. There will be support and resources provided to help you stay committed to your goals with personalized attention for all your needs.
THE ULTIMATE GOAL
The ultimate goal is to come into your fullest potential through healing, embracing and integrating both your human self and spiritual self. You will become clear with the challenges that face you in your life and learn new methods to deal with life situations. In the end, making small changes to self-defeating behaviour and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, anxiety, and pain can bring life-altering results. Below you will find three distinct approaches I offer. Please take a look and see which approach suits your needs.
TRADITIONAL VS. HOLISTIC AND SPIRITUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY
While traditional psychotherapy addresses imbalances in mood and supports clients in cultivating insight, a psychospiritual approach adds a dimension that emphasizes the journey of the spirit which may include strengthening a connection with a higher power and provide greater insight to what might be contributing to your challenges.
With many of my clients expressing interest in wanting to enter the territory of spirituality and holistic authentic soul searching, Spiritual Psychotherapy creates a thoughtful space to address several "spiritual" crisis, also known as, Carl Jung’s concept of "The Shadow Self." Clients arrive in session with a challenge that is causing distress and burden on the level of the spirit. Individuals seek a supportive, open-minded therapist who can aid them in their efforts to feel more emotionally and spiritually whole. This approach can be trusted to be non-directive and non-dogmatic, unique to each clients beliefs and worldly views.
Transformation takes place when we address both our dark and light sides. As we acknowledge our pain and suffering we also celebrate the learning that happens through collaborative treatment methods. We start to learn to accept ourselves, our imperfections, and our humanness from a place of our very own Spirit, being guided by our gut-instinct to trust ourselves more. This is the process of self realization of which Eastern mystics have written. It is the process of salvation to which much Western theology has devoted itself. This is the spiritual path!
